Worm

A self-copying worm exploits an unpatched remote service and leaps from rack to rack, heating every server it lands in, until a patch rollout sweeps the room cold and freezes it mid-leap. Press A to turn the ASCII off.

  • Three.js renders to two targets at once (MRT): shaded colour, plus a separate temperature, depth and object-id buffer
  • ASCII pass with a Martian Mono glyph atlas built at load; the ramp is ordered by each glyph's measured ink coverage across three weights
  • Per-cell Sobel on depth and luminance picks / \ | - along silhouettes; a 4×4 Bayer matrix dithers glyph levels and palette stops
  • Colour is quantised by meaning: cold ramp for trusted racks, ironbow for infected ones, and the worm is drawn from its own source
  • X-ray lens shows the raw render with barrel distortion and a dithered edge; move the pointer to aim it
